PS21 Health & Safety Guidelines

Ticketholders agree to follow PS21 and CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines and federal, state, and local health organization guidance and mandates as they evolve. These policies often change, as new findings become available, so please check this Health & Safety Guidelines page before your visit. PS21 is committed to protecting the health and safety of our visitors, artists, and staff, while also doing everything possible to ensure that you enjoy your visit.

FACE MASKS

Masks are not required for visitors to PS21, but we encourage you to wear a mask. The CDC recommends protective masks that fit well and that you will wear consistently. All PS21 staff are required to meet this same standard, as well as our visiting artists.

VACCINATION

PS21 does not require proof of vaccination or a negative test result to attend a performance at PS21. We ask audience members to affirm that they are following CDC protocols.

PLEASE STAY HOME IF:

  • You are sick with COVID-19 or have COVID symptoms: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches,  headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. This list is not exhaustive, and symptoms may  vary. 

  • You’re NOT vaccinated and have been in close contact with someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibited COVID symptoms within the past 14 days.

  • You have been told to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official. 

  • You have been tested for COVID-19 and have not yet received the results even if you are asymptomatic.

ADANCED AIR FILTRATION

We have installed the AirScrubber by Aerus® air purifying and filtration solution that upgrades our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to eliminate up to 99.9% of common viruses, bacteria, and other contaminants in the ambient air and on surfaces. The air handlers are equipped with MERV13 or higher rated filters and bring in outdoor air at increased rates of ventilation.

FAQs

What are the protocols for performers and staff? 

Our musicians, guest artists, staff, and volunteers follow the same protocols as audience members. Masks are encouraged but optional. Proof of vaccination is not required.

How does PS21 devise its COVID-19 protocols?

PS21’s protocols are based on the recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, the New York State Department of Health, and the Columbia County Department of Health. We will continue to communicate directly with our ticket buyers about changes to protocols by email and will update this page with any such changes.

What is PS21 doing to protect visitors, artists and staff members from COVID-19? 

We have installed the AirScrubber by Aerus® air purifying and filtration solution that upgrades our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to eliminate up to 99.9% of common viruses, bacteria, and other contaminants in the ambient air and on surfaces. The air handlers are equipped with MERV13 or higher rated filters and bring in outdoor air at increased rates of ventilation.

We also carry out regular enhanced cleaning of all areas, including the lobby, restrooms and corridors; reduce person-to-person contact by promoting online digital ticketing (tickets can be scanned directly from your mobile device), and provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the theater.
