PS21 Artists, Producers, and Directors Circle members are visionary leaders dedicated to supporting PS21’s innovative artistic and community programming for the open-air Pavilion Theater, Black Box Theater, and PATHWAYS program. PS21 DIRECTORS CIRCLE, $10,000 +

PS21 Directors Circle members are essential underwriters of the unique performances that have made PS21 the destination for exceptional contemporary arts programming in our region. As PS21’s leading arts philanthropists, Directors Circle members receive all the benefits and privileged access offered to other donor categories, as well as special benefits and opportunities, including yearly previews and discussions of future programming with the Executive Director.

  • A private dinner with the Executive Director and visiting artists to preview upcoming artist programming, and discuss the creative process of developing their work at PS21.

2022 Season PS21 Circle Highlights

  • June 3, Summer 2022 opening night with Re:INCARNATION by the Qdance Company. Producers Circle members may reserve two tickets, Directors Circle members may reserve four tickets.

  • July 8, House Blend’s concluding installment, featuring bassist Lizzie Burns, cellist Joshua Roman, soprano Amy Burton and pianist John Musto, followed by a “Meet the Artists” dinner and reception next to PS21’s theater.

  • July 25, Bang on a Can’s Michael Gordon presents Field of Vision by 36 percussionists from the University of Michigan Percussion Ensemble and the Sō Percussion Summer Institute. Taking place across PS21’s spectacular fields, the performance is followed by an outdoor dinner next to PS21’s theater with a “Meet the Artists” reception.

  • August 5, Advanced invitation to join the Gala Host Committee to celebrate PS21’s artistic innovation and community impact at the 2022 Gala in the Orchards, featuring the Mark Morris Dance Group and farm-to-table dinner.

  • September 4, Invitation to the end-of-season celebration featuring Philippe Quesne’s band The Moles, as well as participation in Juhyung Lee / Compagnie Galmae’s playful, political, participatory installation C’est pas là, c’est par là on PS21’s grounds, plus more.

 


Past Events

  • December 8, 2021, Directors Circle invitation to a private dinner at a Hudson Valley estate with the remarkable French playwright and director Pascal Rambert, actors Jim Fletcher and Ismail ibn Connor. Members enjoyed a private evening with the artists as they developed two of Rambert’s masterful plays, The Art of Theater, and With My Own Hands. 

  • December 15—16, 2021, Sarah Kane’s Blasted, presented as a work-in-progress showcase, followed by a “Meet the Artists” onstage dinner and drinks reception, with actors Jim Fletcher and Katiana Rangel. 

  • December 21—22, 2021, Meet-the-artist reception at the U.S. premiere of Phasmes and Hêtre, two works of contemporary circus art from Companie Libertivore (France), composed and choreographed by Fanny Soriano.

  • October 30, 2021, Excursion to The Wooster Group’s production of Bertolt Brecht’s 1932 play The Mother, Performing Garage in New York City, including a “Meet The Artists” post-show reception at Laduree in Soho with veteran actors Jim Fletcher and Kate Valk. 

  • May 30, 2021, Unveiling of James Casebere’s installation, Solo Pavilion for Two or Three. The piece stands proudly overlooking PS21’s open-air Pavilion Theater and inaugurated our Pathways programming. 

  • May 23, 2021, Producers Circle party at Midwood, a Hudson Valley riverfront estate, featuring a panel discussion with the Heartbeat Opera creative team, director Louisa Proske (Opera Halle, Germany) and composer Daniel Schlossberg, discussing their work The Extinctionist, which premiered on May 29—30 at PS21, after a two-week development residency on our campus.
